Avatar Fire And Ash: Disney has finally released the first trailer of James Cameron’s much-awaited third Avatar film ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’. The film will be released in theaters on December 19, 2025. It is coming three years after “Avatar: The Way of Water” and this time a new and dangerous tribe of Pandora – the Ash People – is going to enter the story.
Awesome trailer shown at D23 Expo 2024
During D23 Expo 2024, James Cameron himself came on stage and introduced the teaser of the film. The trailer showed the Ash People for the first time – they are a fearsome warriors covered in soot who are seen dancing around a large pit of fire.
Cameron said, “You’ll never see the world of Pandora like it before. It’s a spectacular adventure – a sight for the eyes, but emotionally deeper than ever before. It brings your favorite characters face new challenges.”
New Enemy – Varang vs. Jake Sully
The Avatar: Fire and Ashes trailer shows Jake Sully’s family and the Metkayina clan fighting Varang, the leader of the Ash People. Varang, played by Oona Chaplin, controls fire and her volcano-like attacks devastate the forests of Pandora.
Her dialogue at the end of the trailer is spine-chilling:
“There are no secrets here with your goddess.”
Avatar 3 star cast and new twist in the story
This time, along with Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana, veteran actors like Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Britain Dalton, Jack Champion, Trinity Jo-Lee Bliss, Bailey Bass, Joel David Moore, Edie Falco and Dileep Rao will be seen in the film. Apart from this, new faces like David Thewlis and Michelle Yeoh have also been included.
James Cameron told that initially “The Way of Water” and “Fire and Ash” were written as a single film, but due to the expansion of the story, they were divided into separate parts. He also told that the Ash tribes are much more aggressive and power-hungry than other tribes – such as Metkeyana and Omatikaya.
He joked, “There is a new character in this film that you will either love very much … or hate!”
